Nikos Govas (Athens, Greece) is a theatre/drama pedagogue. He has worked as actor, musician and director with a number of theatre companies and music groups in Greece, England, Germany and Australia. He founded Theatre Lab Company in London (1994) and was awarded the “Hellenic Foundation Award 1997” and the international award “Grozdanin Kikot 2002” for his contribution to development of drama in education. In 1998 he founded the Hellenic Theatre/Drama & Education Network (chair-president 1998-2008). He is editor of the “Education & Theatre” Journal (Athens, Greece), member of the Editorial Board of the Research in Drama Education: The Journal of Applied Theatre and Performance and theatre tutor in many in-service training courses, Universities, Municipal Theatres, Associations etc. He has studied Mathematics (Athens University), Education (Monash University, Melbourne Australia) and has worked in secondary education schools since 1982. He has served as “Cultural Programs Coordinator” for Directorate of Secondary Education of Eastern Attica Greece (1998-2014) developing teachers’ networks and several art projects. He has edited over 12 books and has published the “For a creative theatre for young people” (2002, Metechmio Editions, Athens)
